So How's Redensity 1 different to profhilo..?

Profhilo has a combination of high and low molecular weight HA so it has a capacity for lifting as the body recognises the difference so you get a inflammatory response which aids in lifting. However we can only inject it certain BAP (bio aesthetic points) ... so we are limited in that way.

Redensity 1 can be injected across the whole face so it has a mesotherapy effect for the patient especially with the nutrients causing cell regeneration and restructuring of the skin alongside free radical protection from the antioxidants. The HA stimulates hydration and it attracts water giving a glowing effect.

Whilst Profhilo is an effective hydrator, REDENSITY 1 works to prevent as well as improve signs of ageing; reducing the chance of premature ageing as it restores skin density and helps with maintaining a glowing complexion. It can be used all over the face as a full-facial treatment, unlike Profhilo.

WHATS THE DOWN TIME?

Following this treatment patients may experience mild redness and occasional bruising. Small raised bumps may be visible due to the needling – the bumps have the appearance of small hives and will usually diminish within a few hours. Patients should avoid makeup and exercise for 24 hours.

WHAT ARE THE RESULTS?

Results can be visible after the first session but the cumulative results of a 3-session treatment plan can be seen within one month. Benefits include:  smoother fine lines and wrinkles, skin texture improvement and glowing complexion. Overall a more refreshed appearance! Photodamage accounts for around 90% of external age associated cosmetic skin problems. As you know I'm always educating my patients on the effects and early signs of photoageing. I know many of my patients love Profhilo ( the purest form of hyaluronic acid) ... so how is this product different? Well here's for some science.. Hyperpigmentation and Melasma..What to do? Obagi-Nuderm to the rescue!

Many patients attend the Medished suffering from hyperpigmentation. Hyperpigmentation is actually a symptom rather than a diagnosis. Hence, establishing the correct diagnosis is essential. One reason for hyperpigmentation is Melasma. Melasma is a complex, chronic skin disorder where sun exposure causes patches of pigmentation in the presence of other factors. These factors include hormones, medical conditions, pregnancy, or medication. During pregnancy, melasma is referred to as the mask of pregnancy or chloasma. Unfortunately, it may remain after the birth. Melasma may start with hormonal contraceptives but not reversed once discontinued. Anyone can develop hyperpigmentation and any point in their life.

WHAT DOES MELASMA LOOK LIKE?

The pattern of pigment is often larger patches in a symmetrical distribution. Melasma appears darker than the surrounding skin- affecting the cheeks, forehead, upper lip, nose and chin. It can also affect other areas of the body exposed to the sun, such as the forearms and neck. Areas of melasma are flat, not raised. Many patients have an ongoing battle with unevenly pigmented skin often worsening in the summer months.

WHATS IN OBAGI NU-DERM KIT?

OBAGI NU-DERM GENTLE CLEANSER

This mild, soap-free gel cleanser is formulated for dry to normal skin. The Obagi Nu-Derm Gentle Cleanser removes oil, dirt, and makeup without dehydrating.

SO HOW DO I USE THE OBAGI NU-DERM SYSTEM?

For best results, follow these steps twice daily.

Step One: Cleanse AM/PM

Wash skin using Obagi Nu-Derm Gentle Cleanser (for dry skin) or Obagi Nu-Derm Foaming Gel (for oily skin). Apply a small amount to hands and massage onto wet skin, starting from the outside of the face and working inwards. Allow to sit for 30 seconds to open up pores, readying the skin for further product. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.

Step Two: Tone AM/PM

Apply toner to cleansed skin using a cotton ball. Do not rinse off.

Step Three: Clear AM/PM

Apply 1 or 2 pea-size drops of Obagi Nu-Derm Clear onto face, extending to the hairline and ears.

Step Four: Exfoliate AM

Using fingertips, massage 1 to 2 pea-size drops of Exfoderm (for dry skin) into skin.

Step Five: Blender PM

Apply 1 or 2 pea-size drops of Obagi Nu-Derm Blender mixed with tretinoin onto your skin.

Step Six: Moisturise AM/PM

Smooth a small amount of Obagi Nu-Derm Hydrate over the entire face.

Step Seven: Protect AM

Liberally apply your SPF 50 onto your skin in the morning, underneath makeup.

OBAGI NU-DERM USAGE - MEDISHED TIPS!

During application, use ½ gram of each product. This roughly translates to the size of a pea.

The Obagi Nu-Derm system contains alpha hydroxy acid, or AHA. AHA can increase skin’s sensitivity to the sun. For this reason, it’s important to practice proper suncare techniques while using the Obagi Nu-Derm system. Always wear a sunblock and protective clothing, and avoid sun exposure between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, when UV rays are their strongest. Redness, dryness, and itchiness may occur within the first six weeks of treatment. These side effects are completely normal and I'm always available to guide and help you.
